Wellbeing advice for children

At Braiswick our Pastoral support team are dedicated to help improve and support the emotional and physical wellbeing of our children.

Our aim is to develop positive relationships with children and families, responding to any issues to ensure difficulties are discussed and resolved. This may be offering support and guidance for families and provides a link between home and school to try and resolve any issues at an early stage. Improving the wellbeing of the child can break down and reduce any barriers that may impact on their learning.

Some of the interventions that we can support with are:

  • Supporting children and parents at the beginning of the school day to help the child settle.
  • 1-1 sessions with children, this may include anxiety, anger, bereavement
  • In class support
  • Social groups (social and emotional needs, behaviour, friendships)
  • 1-1 Counselling through Child first or outsourced agencies.
  • Outdoor Therapy programme
  • Working together with Lego
  • Emotional literacy interventions with an ELSA
  • Zones of regulation

If you require any further information or require some support please contact pastoral@braiswickprimary.org.uk or Pastoral Manager Mrs Leanne Richer.
