GROW SEMH provision is funded by Essex local authority to meet the needs of local schools. We offer early intervention to children before challenging behaviour reaches a stage where exclusion is being considered. Some of these children will have had early childhood trauma and attachment difficulties, some will have other diagnosed difficulties such as ADHD. We use a trauma perceptive approach to work in partnership with families and referring schools, this creates a network of support around the pupil.

In GROW, we provide:

• a partnership lasting for two terms
• a safe and structured learning experience to promote more helpful behaviour, well-being and happiness
• a personalised curriculum of education for primary aged children
• help for children to be more confident and independent in their learning
• opportunities to develop children’s personal and social growth
• preparation and support for a successful reintegration back into school when appropriate

GROW staff are trained in Trauma Perceptive Practice and guide the children through developing the 6 core strengths of attachment, affiliation, self regulation, awareness, tolerance and respect.
