At Braiswick Primary School we aim to inspire our children to learn how to use their designing, making and evaluating skills to create their chosen product. They are able to use a range of transferrable skills in a safe environment.

It is important that children know that DT projects involve planning, this can be from researching, discussing or looking at illustrations.

The children have opportunities to safety build on their tool handling skills by creating different projects.

The children also have opportunities in EY, Yr.2 and Yr.4 to develop their cooking skills; their understanding of nutrition and a healthy balanced diet.

The DT curriculum shows progression from Early Years to Yr.6 building on and developing skills which the children have previously learnt.
